Excess sodium in the fluid around the cells produce a significant increase in blood pressure. Many people may be more susceptible to this than others.

Most bears in mind that a reduction in the amount of sodium in the diet are often recommended to lower blood pressure. What many people do not know is that the percentage or sodium-potassium ratio may be more important than sodium alone.

The first thing you can do to improve sodium-potassium diet is to eliminate processed foods from your life. One of the most important factors to consider that the rise of hypertension in industrialized countries is the adoption of processed foods which remove the added sodium as potassium.

General recommendation is that dieting is a partner in the amount of potassium and sodium. Natural sources of potassium include bananas, lettuce, broccoli, potatoes, fresh fruit, peanuts, wheat germ, nuts and orange juice fundamental.
